International Baccalaureate Schools in Spain
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) is a worldwide, rigorous and balanced educational programme with final examinations that are an excellent means of preparation for university and adult life. It is a 2-year programme designed for adolescents from 16-18 years old. The diploma provides access to some of the world’s best universities and those who are awarded this diploma, will not need to go through the Spanish University Entrance Examination (selectividad).
As an international student, you will be able to apply for university by submitting your overall Baccalaureate grades. However, if you would like to improve your existing grades, you will be able to take this entrance examination.
All centres that offer the International Baccalaureate Programme are accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organization, which guarantees its educational quality, coordinates collaboration and warrants studies with a diploma.
Collaborations with entities
This organisation collaborates with academic establishments, governments and international organisations to create and develop challenging international educational programmes and rigorous evaluation methods. The programme prides itself on the recognition and respect from universities around the world.
Schools from all around the world have chosen to implement International Baccalaureate® programmes (IB) due to its academic rigour. These schools give classes to more than a million students over the globe. These are internationally recognised studies and therefore, students can move from one country to another as they wish.
Students who study the International Baccalaureate programme develop skills that are essential for succeeding in university. Students who wish to partake in this international programme must be aware of the requirements. One of which is the need to have a strong command of various languages. Students also need to be self-sufficient and responsible as there is an element of self-guidance on this learning path. The programme is based project work rather than through end of term evaluations.
This educational proposal for pre-university youth shows the importance of the global aspect and mobility of studying from a really young age. This ensures that future undergraduates develop skills that can be used in a global world.
